# Hemp / Kendir

Industrial hemp, different from recreational or medical cannabis, is bred for its strong and versatile fiber. It's a renewable resource that rivals the versatility of petroleum, with over 25,000 potential carbon-neutral, low-waste products ranging from bioplastics to advanced materials like supercapacitors.\

**Hemp and Deforestation:** Trees are unmatched carbon capture tools, but they're more valuable dead than alive. Hemp can help reduce deforestation by replacing timber in many products, such as paper and pulp, which account for over 40% of timber consumption. 

Transitioning to hemp could potentially save billions of trees annually, benefiting carbon sequestration and biodiversity.
