⚛️Decentralize Hemp Seeds

Everywhere you look, you see a cradle of civilization; planting seeds was at the heart of it. And this happens because humanity can only advance through cooperation and survives with coordination if there’s enough food, medicine, clothing, shelter and raw materials for everybody. Seeds provide all of those. And Hemp seeds can provide all of those, alone.

It is such a seed that hemp soil is very beneficial to both the environment and people. We have a purpose with hemp, not just economically, but to be beneficial to the world. It is a plant that has been used in Anatolia for thousands of years, and smear campaigns have discredited its name.

Objectives

  • to map varieties in terms of their location-specific properties and preferences

  • to ensure free access to technical information about cultivation and use (library)

  • to increase the number of varieties grown in Turkey

Initial ideas for Regen Ecocredit method:

  • metric = agro biodiversity: nr of varieties, health of their population

  • verification = data reported by scientists associated with the Library

  • credit supply: Library

  • credit demand: hemp industry (csr/esg)

We believe data, access to investment and the correct community/network will empower the industrial hemp ecosystem, and allow us to incentivize small/family farmers with a regenerative transition using MRV(Measurement, Reporting, Verification) tools.

This is a journey with heirloom seeds; to find, analyze and authenticate them with information about their soil and climate compatibilities depending on their outcome needs.

Mission:

To ensure the long-term conservation of crop biodiversity by creating and maintaining a network of distributed seed banks around the world.

Vision:

A world where everyone has access to the seeds they need to feed themselves and their families, regardless of climate change, economic hardship, or conflict.

Why distributed seed banks?

Distributed seed banks are important because they:

  • Increase the resilience of seed conservation by providing multiple copies of seeds in different locations.

  • Make seeds more accessible to farmers and communities, especially in remote areas.

  • Promote the sharing of seeds and knowledge between farmers and communities.

  • Help to preserve traditional knowledge about crop varieties and cultivation practices.

How can we achieve our mission and vision?

We will achieve our mission and vision by:

  • Working with governments, organizations, and individuals to establish and maintain a network of distributed seed banks.

  • Raising awareness of the importance of seed conservation and the role of distributed seed banks.

  • Developing innovative technologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of seed conservation.

  • Supporting research on the benefits of distributed seed banks.

We believe that distributed seed banks are essential for ensuring the long-term conservation of crop biodiversity and food security for future generations. We are committed to working with others to make this vision a reality.
